My Birth Story!
Sunday Aug 4 around 8:30p.m I decided to head for bed after a long weekend. Timmy was in bed since about 7pm
cause he was beat and had to get to work at 5 am. Anyway I went to set my alarm clock for work in the morning with only a
dim lamp lit cause I didnt want to wake Timmy, when all of the sudden a gush of water starting running down my leg. Two weeks
from my Due date I thought " did I just pee my pants???"...No, after I changed my clothes I wondered if I should wake
up Timmy and tell him my water had broke. SO thats what I did then I called the Dr who told me to go on and head to the hospital.
Got to there at around 9:15 where they confirmed my water had broken but they told me it was going to be a long night cause
I was only dilated at 1cm with a thick cervix ( I have been that way the past three weeks!) My contractions where 11 min apart
but I wasnt feeling them. At 1:00 a.m Monday morning Aug 5 they started me on Pitocen and I still havent progressed from 1cm.
By this time my parents, sister, brother and inlaws and a few friends where there with me. At 5 am Ii was in pain and they
kept shooting my I.V with Demarol. At 7 am I was not the nicest person , I was clenching the bedrails is agony and demanded
for my epidural which gave me much relief but I still have not progressed and was still at 1cm. At 10am the Dr came in and
told me I would probably need a c-section since I was still only 1cm...for some reason I just would not dialate. (My mother
did the same thing...never dilated and had to have c-sections) I was really getting scared at this point and wanted it to
be over with. As they prepped me for surgery I started to cry cause I was scared out my mind! Timmy and my mother was
in the O.R. with me.
After 14 hours of labor, at 11:21 am Monday Aug 5 Kaden was born via C-section. He weightd 6lbs
4oz and was 19 3/4 in long. Much smaller than all the ultra sound said, I had Gestional Diabetes so a big baby was expected. When
he was being pulled out of me and he started to cry, thats when all emotion hit me and I was crying in joy along with my baby
boy.

Kaden Mark Manchester
Born 8/5/02 11:21 a.m.
6 lbs 4 oz 19 3/4 in. long

Kaden had what they called "wet lung" where too much fluid was in
his lungs so he was taken to the nursery where everyone else got to see him and I was taken to recovery. He was not brought
into my room till around 9pm monday night and I was in agony waiting to hold and kiss my baby...it felt like forever for them
to finally bring him to me. He had to be put on antibiotics through an I.v in his little foot and we had to stay in the hospital
for 5 days, not only because of him but because I spiked up a high fever and had to be put on antibiotics too. Labor
and delivery did not go as we expected but it was all well worth it!
